Executive Chef, Connor Barshay (Age 13) has been a true foodie from day one. He has enthusiastically consumed such delicacies as alligator, camel, crickets, escargot etc… The more adventurous the better!  He has never ordered off a kids menu.

In 2014 Connor was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy. While this condition limits him in certain ways, in no way does it affect his passion or creativity in the kitchen.

Over the past few years Connor has become particularly enamored with hot sauces. He pairs them with foods much like a master sommelier.

The concept of Connor’s Saucery was hatched in early 2018 as a doodle on a napkin, over a generous portion of fish tacos and fried tostones at Baltimore’s Little Havana.

We experimented with ingredients and recipes until we knew we had something a little special. Thus our flagship sauce, IlLIMEinati, was born. Connor was quick to come up with additional varieties.

We knew we wanted to get our sauces out there, and thus began the research into what it would take, which turned out to be... quite a bit. Bottles, closures, design work, sourcing labels, insurance, food safety certification, licensing, trademark registration, LLC formation, web hosting, etc. etc. etc...

So on a whim, we started a Go Fund Me campaign to try to cover some of the initial startup costs. Thanks to our amazing friends and family, we managed to raise more than our initial goal in less than 24 hours.

Our current lineup of sauces is available through our online shop as well as select farmers markets, street fairs, specialty retailers and restaurants.

Follow our adventure as we build something hot and delicious while
bringing visibility and funding to individuals and families
living with Muscular Dystrophy.

With Love & Sauce,

The Barshays
